To provide comprehensive education in the fields of chemical sciences and engineering, preparing professionals with relevant profiles who can contribute to addressing regional challenges, while fostering their personal growth and the development of their social, economic, scientific, and technological environments. Our graduates are trained to act with a global perspective, social responsibility, proactivity, and innovation.

The mission includes the generation, application, and dissemination of scientific knowledge and technological development in the areas of chemical sciences and engineering, all within a framework of university and cultural values that emphasize justice, sustainability, equity, and the respect for human and environmental rights.

VISION

By 2035, the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Engineering is envisioned as an academic unit strongly integrated with its social, economic, and scientific environment. Through its core functions—teaching, research, extension, and engagement—it advances the fields of chemical sciences and engineering with innovative and transdisciplinary programs. These efforts earn recognition for their impact, quality, and relevance from national and international accrediting bodies, as well as broad acceptance from students, industry, service sectors, government, and society at large, thanks to the human, scientific, and technological capital it contributes with a strong sense of social and environmental responsibility.

The Faculty’s performance rests on continuous efforts to strengthen its human capital, academic infrastructure, and models of work. Through ongoing updates, it ensures relevance and reflects a work and service culture that transcends disciplinary boundaries, actively contributing to society’s integral development through the actions of all its members—faculty, students, administrative staff, and alumni.

Its undergraduate and graduate programs are widely recognized and accredited for their quality, contributing to both disciplinary and holistic education with a global and inclusive perspective. Regularly updated teaching practices attract students through STEM-based offerings, preparing graduates with high employability, and equipping them with proactive, innovative, and entrepreneurial skills that foster professional and personal success.

The Faculty’s academic staff is distinguished by high levels of specialization and internationally recognized scientific productivity. Their expertise continually addresses regional needs through collaborations that promote technology transfer, the professionalization of health, environmental, and industrial services, and the development of economically viable and sustainable models that benefit both external partners and the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Engineering.
